In the semi-finals of Poland, they faced the Hungarians, who appeared in the line-up: Luca Szűcs, Sugár Katinka Battai and Renát Katona. Our rivals in the same combination and with Liza Puszta 3 years ago won the title of planet champion in Cairo. The match in Genoa was better started by Hungarians, who led 10:7. In the third, Matusak won 8:4 with Katona and Polka taking the lead 15:14. 3 consecutive duels ended with Hungarian victories and after six battles the rival White-Red led 30:27. The seventh start was won by 6:5 Wątor – Katona fought against her. In the penultimate duel, Matuszak did a large job, who defeated Szűcs 7:1 and provided the Polish with a four-point lead in the match. The promotion to the finals was decided by the last run between the carpenter and Battai. 6:5 won the Hungarian, but this was not adequate for rivals of the White-Red to final triumph – the Polish triumphed 45:42.
13 teams entered the competition for medals in the saber squad tournament. In the first match, at stake was promotion to the quarter-finals, Polish representatives faced the Greeks. White and red most likely won 45:30. In the duel for promotion to the semi-finals Polish sabers fought the Ukrainians. In the second match, CWZS and Cieślar players defeated the rivals again without problems – this time 45:27. The Poles took the lead in the first fight and did not give it up until the end of the match. The Ukrainians won only 1 start (Olena Kravatska defeated 7:5 Matusak) and 1 draw (Kravatska 5:5 from Wątor).
Yesterday, the 4th place in the squad tournament was won by Polish florists, who in the bronze match surrendered to the Spanish. In a match deciding on the bronze medal of Fr Martyn Jelińska, St. Wier. spec. Hanna Lyczbinska and Karolina Żurawska lost to Maria Teresa Diaz, Maria Marino and Ariadna Tucker. So the Poles failed to defend runner-up title acquired before 1 year in Basel. In the semifinals, the Polish women lost to representatives of the Tricolours. The French went on to rematch for last year's semi-finals, in which they lost 40:41 – in Genoa they won the match 45:41. In a quarter-final duel, Polish Florecists eliminated from the further rivalry of Ukraine – Biało-Red won 33:32.
On the last day of individual competition at the championship event in Genoa, close to winning the medal was St. Wier. spec. Michael Siess.
