The first Abrams M1A2SEPv3 tanks reached the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade in Happy last night. Earlier, on the same wagons, the soldiers of the unit passed the course at the Poznań Center for the Training of Land Forces. Now they will hone their skills on exercise squares and training ground.

Abrams, which reached Wesoła is the first always device unit in version M1A2 SEPv3. There are little than 30 in Poland. Tanks came from the US in January of that year. They first went to the Military Motorization Plant in Poznań, where they passed the alleged deprocessing, which is simply a comprehensive post-transport review. A part was then handed over to the Poznań Center for the Training of Land Forces. – Our crew utilized them during the course at Abrams Academy – explains Captain Jacek Piotrowski, spokesperson 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade. Classes began in March. Soldiers spent six weeks getting to know fresh tanks under the guidance of US instructors. This was a supplemental course due to the fact that crews had already taken part in full-time training based on Abrams in the older version M1A2 SEPv2. In April, the “threes” first opened fire on the camp in Biedrusk. This was the final phase of the course, after which the soldiers returned to the home unit. Tanks followed them yesterday. Meanwhile, the CSWL has already received more "threes" and... students – especially from Wesoła.
Abramsy version SEPv3 is another US tank that received the Warsaw brigade. “We already have a full battalion equipped with older M1A1 cars”, added Captain Piotrowski.
Abrams are considered 1 of the most modern tanks in the world. In fresh years, the Ministry of Defence has bought as many as 366 – 116 utilized M1A1 machines and 250 mill fresh M1A2 SEPv3. The first reached Poland in a set, the second should end next year. For any time, CSWL besides utilized these M1A2 SEPv2 tanks. They were loaned from Americans for training purposes, but they were already back overseas.
Tanks are equipped with a smooth-bore 120 mm M256 cannon, a 12.7 mm large caliber device gun, 2 7.62 mm rifles, and a modern fire control system. Their propulsion unit is simply a 1500 hp turboshaft Honeywell engine. The construction solutions utilized in Abrams warrant the crew comfort of service and superior safety. Example – ammunition warehouses are separated from the combat compartment by armoured bulkheads. They are located in the rear of the hull. If hit, the blast force is driven upwards, which importantly increases the crew's chances of survival. The SEPv3 version differs from the older ones, among another things, from solutions that include a fire control strategy and sights. Tanks besides gained an auxiliary APU drive unit.
