Soldiers from 12, 14, 15 and 16 Territorial Defence Brigade cooperate with the Border defender to seal the western border. Territorials assist SG officers in carrying out controls and besides patrol the area. They have besides already taken respective interventions related to attempts to illegally cross the border.

As of 7 July, checks at border crossing points with Germany returned. On the same day the operation besides began “Safe West”to seal the western border and prevent illegal immigration. On the site they cooperate with each other: Border Guard, Military Żandarmerie and territorial defence troops from regions adjacent to the border of Lower Silesia, Lubuskie and Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship. Territorials from Wielkopolska besides joined. In total, it's almost 500 soldiers. The patrols carried out in the rotation strategy last after respective hours.
The Territorials are both checking the area and helping the Border Guard. By decision of 1 July, checks at the western border are carried out at 52 points at Polish-German crossings. 16 points are fixed crossings, while the remainder is mobile, which is besides adapted to typical traffic in a given place (so these are points by the road, but besides by bicycle footbridges and pedestrian crossings).
– Soldiers aid the Border defender in controls. The aim is to seal communication routes against illegal transport of immigrants, as well as to guarantee that the movement is smooth and does not affect the functioning of people who regularly, regular or at smaller intervals cross the border – explains Captain Anna Jasińska-Pawlikowska, press spokesperson for the 12th Wielkopolska OT Brigade and the full WOT activities on the western border. As he adds, in respective cases territorialists have already had to intervene in connection with attempts to illegally cross the border.

– Due to the well-being of the activities carried out, I cannot talk of details, but we have already noted attempts at illegal crossings, e.g. on 9 July soldiers detained 3 foreigners who illegally entered the Polish side. They were transferred to the Border defender for further verification. A akin event occurred on a bridge close the Beaver River. While crossing to the station, soldiers spotted foreigners and besides handed over the SG case. Another example is the effort to cross the bridge from Germany. This time, erstwhile immigrants spotted a military patrol, they withdrew. The Border defender was immediately informed about this event, the officer reports.
Temporary border checks are to take place until 5 August, but may be extended. In addition to the western border, they were besides introduced on the border with Lithuania. 13 border crossings were activated there. For operations "Safe Floors" The military is besides working with the Border defender there. In general, more than 5,000 soldiers are active in securing borders.
