So we have our cultural memento: “scandalist” Jan Klata will be the manager of the national scene again. And people are drawn to darkness. They turn distant from the light and run somewhere. Do they know where? For years I've been observing the planet of art, the planet of theatre. The scene has a large pull. Decades pass, and young people inactive dream about theatre school, about getting on phase so the curtain goes up. There is, however, a crucial difference between "theatres" from the 21st century and those born, say, 2 decades ago. Once, with all their artistic madness, artists wanted to make good through beauty; they wanted to make art that no substance what it saidThe truth. These classical paradigms the time of postmodernism turned into its nightmare opposites.
Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw was established in 2003 with a beautifully justified task of documenting, promoting and animation Polish theatre life. The Institute has the position of the National Cultural Institution... I know, there are dozens in the 3rd Republic of Poland, and there are inactive more, and in spite of the known triumph march of Marxists. According to the Stalinist explanation that "as the revolution progresses, the class conflict is tightening", however, fresh institutions and even newer staff are needed. Socialism was erstwhile enough, and present socialism with genderism to the company is not enough. erstwhile an artist wanted to make a career he joined the party, and present he sells a lot better sexual incompatibility. As the first manager of the Theatre Institute, Maciej Nowak, put it, “I am happy to be a fag.”
When the government took over the Law and Justice, their minister of culture, Piotr Gliński, perorated wartimely: “Polish cultural institutions should not be led by ideological hawks“ And as an example, he pointed to the Theatre Institute. Nothing specific, however, was changed there, as well as the "fixed" Slovak Theatre in Krakow, and as nothing was done with the "jachka" of the Universal Theatre in Warsaw or the force at the movie School in Łódź. Rather, it is these institutions that change people – first the artistic fish, and then the legion of those who, as spectators/receivers, appeal to the artistic offer of specified a formatted culture.
Stephen Twardoch, writer of “Gazeta Wyborcza”, portrayed as “inspirator of liberal environments”, is simply a mainstream author of “smiled power” and promoter of the Silesian language and the Silesian cultural minority. He besides raises money for arms for Ukraine and himself delivers purchased drones, cars and whatever else. He described his wartime “adventure” in 2 literary essays published in German in “Neue Züricher Zeitung” and in a book published by German publishing home Rowohlt. His work has been placed at the top of the best-selling list for more than a decade, spreading the author’s atheism and his knajack nihilism, expressed in specified a individual credo: “The attempts to give life meaning and meaning, the uncovering of its structure are as noble as those doomed to failure. I don't believe in answers."
In 2017, a collection of Twardoch's short stories entitled “Ballada about 1 lady” was published in the Literary Publishing House, where – as the critic-propagator delights – “we will find brutal, naturalistic descriptions surrounded by a large dose of sublime irony”. specified a business card is an perfect incentive for a “new theatre”. 2 years after the publication of the book, students of the second year of the Direction of Actor Theatre Academy in Warsaw, under the artistic supervision of prof. Olga Sawicka, exhibited a phase version of 1 of the stories – “Masara”. As a result, we received an ent on Polish scenes an unveiling of what is dirty and vile in man.
In mid-February at the Theatre Institute you will see another staging of “Masara”, besides a workshop. It was established in the Wrocław branch of the Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow (premier in April 2023). This time the text of the author from Pilchowic in advanced Silesia takes the form of a monodram (directed by Kuba Mielewczyk). The show has already passed many shows and respective festivals and environmental awards, and is powerfully promoted. What was written in the prepremise of this text was 3 persons, here he bears on his shoulders (read: utilizing his being) 1 young female – Julita Koper.
Less than 3 years ago, Julita was expected to work with my Theatre Not Now. She came to us looking for the good she didn't find in acting school. There was softness in it and a girl's light... Unfortunately, she had besides much emotional connection to the another world, which she most likely didn't realize. Today, he has his talent for the communicative of an "ugly duck" who, in spite of the canonic fairy tale and contrary to man's needs, becomes a human monster and, according to Hardoch's text, fights regular for survival, and in doing so, harms everyone around.
Masara, it's a fat, fat fly in the Silesian zoo. 1 might say that these are the flies that have occupied the full authoritative culture. Until then, the theatre was lingering from them, but it was apparent that it was exhausting and unprofitable, so it would be better to get utilized to the "fly" and match it. And for everything to be “cool”—referring to another fairy tale—the mirror, just in case, was broken and won't say anything. And the conscience? The flies don't believe in absolute; they only live in 2 dimensions...
Has Julita lost contact with the light yet? I don't know. I want it wasn't. The last message I received from her was the answer to my proposition that her “rebellion” towards the planet might not necessarily be found where she is. She replied, “I don’t want to lose contact with you, absolutely!” Oh, God, I'm inactive waiting. delight think well of her and quite a few her likes.
