Hungarian carrier Wizz Air accelerates the return to Israel – the first aircraft will take off on 8 August, not as previously announced on 15 September. However, trips from Poland to Tel Aviv are not due back until mid-September.

According to "Jerusalem Post", at least 120 fresh flights scheduled for August appeared on the departures and arrivals board of Ben Guriona Airport in the last fewer days. This is the consequence of the decision of many abroad airlines to resume their flights to Tel Aviv earlier than planned.

Wizz Air restores flights to Israel

Among the carriers who return to Israeli airport are among others Lufthansa Group (including Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and EuroWings), Hungarian low-cost Wizz Air, United Airlines and Greek Aegean Airlines.

Wizz Air will gradually reconnect with Israel – the first flights from Tel Aviv to Larnaka and Budapest will take off on 8 August. Flights to Dubai will resume on August 15 and London on August 22. As of 1 September, the carrier will reconstruct connections to Vienna, Milan, Rome and Sofia. The following directions will join from 15 September, including Poland (from Warsaw, Krakow and Katowice).

Initially Wizz Air plans 10 cruises per week, then this number will increase to 13 and at the end of August to 18 cruises per week.

The Hungarian carrier stopped flying there through the war

Flights to Ben Guriona Airport in Tel Aviv were suspended first as a consequence of Israel's war with Hamas (started after the attack on October 7, 2023) and then after the escalation of the conflict with Iran.

Airlines from around the world, including low-cost carriers, reacted at the time to halt their connections for safety reasons.
