U.S. president Donald Trump said in an interview with NBC News that under certain circumstances he could send US troops to occupy Greenland.

‘This can happen. I uncertainty that this is the case, but it definitely can," he answered a question on the matter.

The head of state stressed one more time that the United States "very" needs Greenland, as it is essential for global security.
Even before taking office, Donald Trump repeatedly stated that the island should become part of the United States. He stressed that these territories are of strategical importance for national safety and the protection of the "free world", including from China and Russia. The White home chief refused to make a promise that he would not usage military force to take control of the island.
