The Global Peace Index 2025 ranking of the safest countries in the planet was developed by the Institute of Economics and Peace (IEP). The study shows that this year the number of active conflicts has reached the highest level since the end of planet War II. This makes people increasingly worried about their own future, live in fear, and the planet has mastered a global sense of danger. At the time of the ranking, there were 59 active conflicts between countries. This leads to increased militarisation, expanding economical uncertainty and the disintegration of conventional alliances. However, not everywhere the situation looks the same. To calculate the peace ratio, 23 points were taken into account, including the level of crime, terrorism, armed clashes, the degree of militarisation or defence spending.
