Russian budget expenditure in 2022 increased by 26%. According to data from the Ministry of Finance of Russia, their summit came in December erstwhile 22% of the yearly funds were spent. The year-to-year deficit for December 2022 was 3.9 trillion rubles and compared to 2021. Budgetary gross increased by 4.9%, while expenditure increased by 43%. Much of it was the cost of war. In 2023, the Ministry of Defence's spending increased by 5 trillion rubles (an increase of 17%) and the Ministry of the Interior by 4.4 blm rubles (15%).
