Alaksandr Lukashenka is going to visit Tajikistan. His press service informed about this. The visit takes place on 9-10 October. Its main nonsubjective is to attend the gathering of the CIS Heads of State Council, scheduled for 10 October.
The agenda is about 20 points. A message by CIS Heads of State is expected to be adopted in connection with the upcoming 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl atomic power station disaster. The coordination of action on this issue at the UN General Assembly is besides to be discussed.
In addition, a number of initiatives are planned to strengthenthe global position of the Council, in peculiar regarding the creation of the CIS plus format and the granting of observer position to the CIS by the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
The programme includes issues specified as energy security, military cooperation, border safety and the fight against global crime.
“Participants of the gathering will pay peculiar attention to issues concerning current CIS activities. At the end of the summit, appropriate global papers are planned," added the press service.
