Private GRU Army: Russian Redute in the Shadow of Wagner Group [ANALYSIS]

While late the concept of a private military company, the alleged CZWK (from the acronym Czastnaya Wojnaya Kompaniya), has been associated primarily with the Wagner Group, in its shadow, but since the beginning of the war, the company “Redut”, associated with the Russian Ministry of Defense, has been operating in Ukraine. CzWK “Redut” is simply a company affiliated with the Main Intelligence Board (GRU), active earlier in Syria and at the beginning of the invasion, besides in Ukraine. Reduta reconnaissance and diversionary groups operated from the first days of the invasion in the Donbask, Kiev and Kharkiv direction.
