Closer cooperation between companies from Poland and Ukraine

Orlen and his Ukrainian counterpart Naftogaz Group extend strategical cooperation.

The companies concluded a memorandum concerning cooperation in mining projects, the improvement of the downstream section and strengthening cross-border and commercial relations. Its implementation will let Ukraine, among others, to increase diversification of sources of supply not only with gas, but besides oil, as well as access to alternate fuels. The contract was signed during the largest Ukrainian oil and gas manufacture conference Newfolk Oil&Gas in Lviv – informed the Polish company.

The time has come for enhanced cooperation

– The signed agreement is further evidence of the effective implementation of our strategy. Orlen becomes the key to energy safety not only in Poland but besides in the full region. After the start of deliveries of American LNG for our Ukrainian partner, it was time to deepen our cooperation. Together we can more – said Ireneusz Fafara, president of Orlen.

– I believe we can decision our cooperation to a full fresh level. I am grateful to our Polish partners, and especially to president Orlen for his constructive dialog and sincere support for Ukraine," said Sergei Koretskyi, president of Ukrainian Naftogaz.

Naftogaze may besides benefit from Orlen's experience in upgrading oil refineries

Under the signed agreement, the companies will search to increase the supply of natural gas by Poland to Ukraine and to make and support the implementation of oil and gas extraction projects. These projects will enhance the safety of our partners' natural materials and let flexibility. Naftogaz may besides benefit from Orlen's experience in upgrading the oil refinery in Siliconczuk and upgrading gas assets destroyed during the war. The Parties will besides search to prepare joint investment projects, both in terms of fuel sales and the improvement of the biofuel segment.

The memorandum signed in Lviv is the second cooperation agreement between companies. Under the first Orlen, he concluded 3 LNG supply contracts to Ukraine with a full volume of 300 million m3 of gas.
