The Belarusian Lukashenko regime, with the support of the Kremlin, is trying to destabilise our country. Aggressive behaviours and attempts at illegal crossing are observed Border defender on the Polish-Belarusian border almost all day. This happens with the approval of the Belarusian services. We don't agree to that. We have built a barrier that effectively protects against the hybrid attacks of the Lukashenko regime.

The Homeland Defence Act is simply a fresh pillar of security

We are improving the process of strengthening the safety of our country. That is why we introduced a groundbreaking law on the defence of Homeland. The bill, whose originator is Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński, is simply a consequence to the challenges in our region – Russia's aggressive policy and hybrid attacks by the Lukashenko and Putin regime.

The Homeland Defence Act is based on 3 pillars:

  • increase the backing of the Armed Forces,
  • the introduction of a universal defence concept,
  • increase the number of Polish Army.

By arranging the Armed Forces regulations and beginning fresh improvement opportunities, Poland is developing its army and defence capabilities in a short time. We are already recruiting soldiers, creating fresh units and equipping them with state-of-the-art equipment.

– We rebuild military units here, we make fresh ones. Right now, the latest is the 6. Division. Our army, which previously consisted of only 3 divisions, will have six of these divisions and in time there will most likely be a spare division," said Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński.

We are expanding the full number of Polish Armed Forces. We have established a Territorial Defence Army, and in the last fewer years the number of professional soldiers has increased from 95 1000 to 175 thousand. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of education towards defence. The Home defence Act introduces a number of affirmative solutions for soldiers and candidates for soldiers so that the service is attractive and competitive on the market.

Polish army becomes 1 of the strongest in Europe

Record defence spending will be at least 3% of GDP in 2023. We are at the forefront of NATO countries that care about maintaining the advanced defence possible of their armed forces.

– Our army will shortly be the strongest on our continent in terms of land forces. It will be the basis for the defence of the full east flank, which is already mostly the basis. And of course we have allies. These alliances will be sustained and strengthened in all way. But we must remember 1 thing – allies defend those who can defend themselves," said Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński.

With increased resources, we modernize our army – we spend billions of PLN on modern military equipment. The fresh equipment of the Polish Army is based on the most modern technologies manufactured in Poland and in the world. These include Grot rifles, HIMARS launchers, AHS Krab, K2 and Abrams tanks or BWP Borsuk.
