Thanks to the launch of the Satellite Mission Control Center, the Military method Academy has obtained the position of the only institution in the country with both method facilities and cognition needed to carry out satellite operations independently and to train future operators of specified systems.

PIAST Project

The Center for the Control of Satellite Missions at the Military method Academy is the state-of-the-art facility in Poland for conducting and supervising satellite missions. It is equipped, among others, with a Legion400 broadcasting and receiving antenna, an operating centre with operator stations and specialized software for communications, monitoring and planning of satellite operations. Thanks to the launch of the WAT facility, it became the only institution in the country with full facilities for independent satellite management and training of future operators.

The facility besides plays an crucial function in the implementation of the PIAST (Polish ImAging Satellites) task assumes the creation of a constellation of 3 nanosatelites intended for optoelectronic imaging.
