Sergei Ivanov, Russia’s erstwhile defence minister and 1 of the key figures in the Russian political establishment, has died. For years, he was considered part of Vladimir Putin’s interior ellipse and was even regarded as 1 of the possible candidates to win him. He was 73 years old.
