The European Commission has brought an action against Poland to the Court of Justice of the European Union for persistently exceeding the permissible levels of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in the air. The case concerns mainly the Kraków and advanced Silesian agglomerations, where – as the EC emphasizes – the standards were broken for 15 and 14 years.
