A dispute over the wreath
These politicians can be punished by police for taking the garter with a provocative plaque relating to the late president Lech Kaczyński.
During the July Smolensk monthly, as all month, members of the Law and Justice Service met at the Smolensk monument in Piłsudski Square to celebrate the victims of the disaster. According to the newspaper, there was a confrontation there, erstwhile it turned out that 1 of the wreaths contained a plaque criticizing Lech Kaczyński's decision to land in Smolensk despite hard conditions.
The situation escalated, leading to an exchange of views between Jarosław Kaczyński and the police and later intervention by Antoni Macierewicz of the Law and Justice, who yet took the wreath. We wrote about the full event. HERE.
Common point for all applications
The police believe that politicians have violated the rules of the Code of Offence, which involves sanctions. The most celebrated case concerns Jarosław Kaczyński, who, according to the officers, was to effort to teardrop off the plaque during the events of April 10 of that year and then take the wreath. The motion to waive his immunity was filed in the Sejm in early May.
A fewer days later, PiS MP Anita Czerwińska was informed of a akin proposal regarding events of January 10. There are reportedly 2 another requests for the waiver of immunity for Mr Mark Suski in the Sejm.
All applications have a common point – alleged infringement of Article 124 of the Code of Offence, which concerns demolition of property worth up to PLN 800. Theoretically, the offense is punishable by imprisonment, restrictions on freedom or fines.
PiS politicians defend themselves
According to PiS activists, they are the ones and the countermanifests should be punished with fines for disrupting the legal assembly.
Anita Czerwińska claims that the plaques placed on the wreaths are slanderous and slanderous, while PiS politicians simply defend themselves against barbarism. He adds that those who disturb the months, not the representatives of the Law and Justice, should endure legal consequences. He besides stresses that the law prohibits the disruption of legal gatherings, and monthly gatherings are reported as cyclical gatherings.
Marek Suski, in turn, feels that police should be afraid with the protection of reported manifestations, not with the protection of those who attack these assemblies, which frequently usage vulgar words and block access to the monument.
