specified a pastoral letter was late sent by Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś to the Łódź Archdiocese, explaining at the outset: “I have decided to talk to all of you in this form, not due to the fact that there is any peculiar occasion. Rather, I am doing this due to crucial questions that, especially in fresh weeks, are "hanging in the air" and which must not be left unanswered." What are these crucial questions “hanging in the air” and what answer did Cardinal Ryś give to these questions? It is about refugees, about the widely understood migration, besides about the assessment of illegal migration, illegal immigrants arriving in Poland and Poland being relocated.
Cardinal Ryś wrote in his letter: "The Catholic social discipline (which so many mention to...) clearly states that all MAN has the right to choose a place to live; and he has the right to be respected in his beliefs, culture, language and faith." The cardinal then appealed: “Please, if you decide to participate in discussions - and especially in public - on the right relation to refugees and migrants, delight do so in deep union with the real teaching of Christ and the Church. If not, please: Have the courage to at least stay silent in specified cases and do not put fire on specified a burning reality.”
Everyone, according to the cardinal, has the right to choose a place to live. To live, that is, to live and to do work. The merchants in the Gospel chose a temple for their work. The choice, from their point of view, is perfect - the proximity of possible customers and the roof over their head. And what did Jesus do, who, as the boy of God, felt “host” of this place? We can read about this in Matthew: “A Jesus went into the temple and threw out all the sellers and buyers in the temple; he overturned the tables changing the money and benches of those selling the pigeons. He said to them, «It is written, My home is to be a home of prayer, and you make it a cave of robbers». [MT 21-12]. Thus, from the explanation given by Cardinal Rysia, it is to be concluded that Christ in the temple acted contrary to his own teaching, plainly speaking, he behaved unChristianly. He did not respect the buyer’s choice of place to live. Worse, the words spoken by Christ “Make him a cave of robbers” It's pure hatred speech. In the light of the explanation of law by any modern politicians and in the light of the politically correct explanation of Scripture by any hierarchs, After this, Christ should be cuffed together and put down.
Cardinal Ryś in his letter states: "This is not a call for any political action. It's a request: first, to turn your tongue back.”. Yes, exactly, let's start with the conversion of the tongue, reconstruct the words to their appropriate meaning. According to the definition of the Polish Dictionary, the guest is “person came to individual to visit”. And only in this sense of the word contains the beauty and wisdom of the Polish proverb "Guest in the house, God in the house". Migrants don't come to visit us. Illegal immigrants pushing the borders of our country, the borders of our settlements, the boundaries of our homes or apartments, are aggressors, not visitors. An effort to transform the proverb into “Illegal immigrant into a house, God into a house” is not a conversion of language but a overthrow of it.
I feel like a associate of the Catholic Church and I have the right to disagree with the explanation of the Teaching of the Church as presented in his letter and in his teaching by Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś. Only the Pope is infallible, and only in matters of preaching ex cathedra. All the more shocking are the words of the cardinal, “at least have the courage to stay silent in specified cases". It is simply a pity that Cardinal Ryś showed the courage to stay silent erstwhile Father Jack Strycz was unwarranted and erstwhile his work was being destroyed to aid the people in request of the “noble package”. It is simply a pity that Cardinal Ryś showed the courage of silence erstwhile the Catholic priest, priest Michael Olszewski, was arrested and tortured and erstwhile his work "Archipelago – islands free of violence" was destroyed.
But I will take to heart these words of the Cardinal. erstwhile migrants, in the number of respective dozen, respective 100 or even respective hundred, breach the barrier of the Archbishop's Palace at 1 Skorupki Street in Łódź, the seat of the Łódź metropolitan, I will have the courage to stay silent in this case. I will not compose a column on this subject, I will not sign any petition in defence of the host of the Palace or a petition condemning the arrival of “guests”. After all, “every man has the right to choose a place to live; and he has the right to be respected in his beliefs, culture, language and faith.”
