Pro-Russian extremism was listed outright as an extremist threat linked to abroad ideologies in the yearly study of the German Office for the Protection of the Constitution BfV. According to the service, more than 1200 crimes related to Russian aggression against Ukraine were committed in Germany in 2022. Crimes belonging to the group of alleged abroad ideologies (excluding spiritual motivations) increased by more than 150 percent to almost 2,000, so the lion's share were people of Russian origin.
