A strong interest in participation in military training and the anticipation of voluntary transition to professional service within 12 months are the reasons why MON intends to increase the limits of this year's volunteer appointments to voluntary essential military service. According to the already ready draft regulation on this issue, the military will train as many as 40,000 people this year.
The Council of Ministers shall find annually the number of persons who may be appointed for active military service in a given calendar year. Among another things, it is. voluntary military service, introduced in April 2022 Home defence Act. It is performed by, for example, candidates for officers from the first year of military studies (since the second year they become professional soldiers), as well as civilian volunteers who had not previously been in the military, but want to undergo military training and in future power up reserves or join the professional army.
Greater chances of training
Under the current regulation, this year a maximum of 34,550 people (including 4550 for the first year of military studies) were to be assigned to this kind of service. It is already known that the set limit may not be sufficient, and another volunteers may not get a chance to participate in training tours. – Only in the first 4 months of the year, as many as 16,800 people were appointed, which represents 56% of the specified limit. The decisions to appoint are inactive being made to another volunteers – the representatives of the MON state. More volunteers do not mean higher spending for the Ministry of Defence. The funds will be provided through a large percent of DZSW soldiers' appointments to professional service within 12 months (as long as voluntary service and specialist training lasts). Voluntary holiday

During the full DZSW period, the volunteer receives a monthly wage of PLN 6000 gross. After training, he can apply for professional military service.
