Russia "wants to make buffer zone". From the Arctic to the Mediterranean

According to the Minister of Defence of Finland, Russia wants to make a buffer region from the Arctic, the Baltic and the Black Sea to the Mediterranean. Antti Hakkanen estimated that the rising cost of war for Russia would over time influence her position in peace negotiations.
