Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni accused Russia of having a greater interest in escalation of force than diplomacy. In a message published on the government website, she stated that Moscow chose cruelty alternatively of negotiation.
"Russia seems more curious in expanding the cruelty of its attacks against Ukraine than through negotiations to end military action" - wrote Meloni. The Prime Minister assured Italy's continued support for the Ukrainian people.

The head of the MFA called on Russia to halt the attacks and show readiness to negotiate. "Russia must halt the attacks and show that it wants to sit at the negotiating table. I express solidarity with the families of the victims, the Ukrainian nation and its government" - said Tajani.
