Medics to Launch

– This year we hosted experts from respective civilian medical universities – the Silesian Medical University, the Warmia-Mazury Medical University, the University of Opole, as well as the Military Medical Training Centre in Łódź, the Academy of Land Forces in Wrocław, but besides a lecturer from the Central School of State Fire Service in Częstochowa or representatives of the Aviation Rescue Service – added Major Aleksandrzak-Heiduck. Representatives of the Foundation “In the meantime” and “Medical Academy” – experts with extended medical and tactical experience, acting for the improvement of emergency medicine in Poland, were besides invited to cooperate.

These issues were related to medical and tactical rescue. The subjects of the lectures and workshops afraid improvisation in rescue and tactical medicine, were the survey of ultrasound in field conditions, standards of care for the injured in combat conditions, crisis negotiations, counter-terrorism tactics, specialised rescue in diving accidents or elements of pediatrics. – Experience from the border shows that even specified non-specific issues are useful to our physicians. Like all year, we besides discussed first aid Service dogs, which are increasingly utilized in carrying out tasks by rescuers – adds Major Aleksandrzak-Heiduck.

After expanding theoretical cognition and workshops, any participants entered a applicable skill test. 15 three-man teams competed in the competition, which had 8 scenarios to score by day and night. We only knew the code name, the coordinates and the time. We didn't know what was in store for us erstwhile it came to tactical background. The competitions were held in the interiors of the buildings of his unit, appropriately arranged for the script. But participants of the competition besides acted in the field: in the Orzygian camp, in the urban zone, etc.

– In medical terms, nothing amazed us in our tasks, due to the fact that we were preparing for these professions. The challenge was tactics. On 1 point, we reached a barrier resembling the 1 on the east border where we had to evacuate an injured soldier. In our direction there were bottles and stones, but close there were shields that had to be utilized to defend – says spit. Florian.

Another point was prepared by the “In the meantime” Foundation's team, which carries humanitarian and rescue aid in Ukraine. "There he waited for us wounded in the trench, who had to be provided with infirmary care with elements of pharmacology, before evacuation with the usage of a combat infantry car. Elsewhere, we went down to an underground field hospital, where, among respective victims, we were the only squad to uncover “the Belarusian agent”. The organizers did not hide the surprise, due to the fact that even police counter-terrorists failed to do so,” remembers the Petty Officer, who with his squad took 4th place on 15 competing teams. – I am very happy to participate in the Mil Med Challenge due to the fact that there are many valuable experiences there. If there is only an opportunity, I will be happy to participate in next year's edition – the spit blooms. Florian.

“At Mil Med Challenge, participants of erstwhile editions frequently arrive, who know that they can gain fresh experience all year”, says Sgt. Sgt. This year the Mil Med Challenge championship won the 1st Armored Brigade of Warsaw. The second place was taken by soldiers of the 15th Gołdap anti-aircraft Regiment, and the podium closed by the Independent Counter-terrorism Division of the Police in Łódź.
