It is called "the camp in Przemysłowa" due to the fact that the transport of children was just delivered on the Industrial Street and at its intersection with Bracka was the entrance gate. The uniqueity of this place is that it was the only lager where children themselves were kept, without the "parasol" of the elderly; the only adults with whom the children had contact were the Essmanian torturers.
The camp was deliberately created in the area of the Łódź ghetto, behind the “double wall” to definitely prevent escapes.
What is notable, children who reached "Industrial" in transports from Oświęcim cried and wanted to return.
On average, about a 1000 or more prisoners from infancy to 16 years of age stayed there all day. According to various sources in the "Industrial" camp, 12-15 1000 Polish children died due to work, execution and non-treatment. After the liberation, in January 1945, about 900 tiny people were found in it, mostly severely ill, defrosted and irreparably terrified. By the 1970s, they had survived just over 300.
The past of the "Industrial" camp was very interesting and captured by the present pastor of the Church of Lodz Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski. Since there is no trace of the lagra in the city, the Archbishop has decided to place the Memorial Board of these children on the wall. On November 7, 2013, he personally exposed her, blessed her, and concelebrated the Holy Mass for the underage victims of this terrible camp. He besides established the permanent date of celebration of the memory of children "from Industry" - this will be the first Thursday of the year in the Octawy All Saints. It's November 6th this year.
From the letter of the Metropolitan Curia to the boatmen:
The Metropolitan Curia of Łódź kindly informs that on Thursday 6 November this year at 12.00 in the Church of Divine Providence in Łódź (Kolińskiego 26 street), Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, Metropolitan of Łódzki will hold Mass in the intention of children murdered in the Nazi camp at Przemysłowa Street. After Mass, the procession will begin under the alleged "camp pear" and then under the statue of the Broken Heart.
Children's camp in Łódź was most likely the only extermination camp founded by the Nazis intended only for the extermination of children aged from infancy to sixteen. The situation of the prisoners of war orphans was much more tragic than in another places of punishment, where adults were besides present. As a consequence of hunger, frost and deliberate murder, respective 1000 Polish children died. The concern for renewing the memory of children - martyrs should be gathered in prayer together.
