In August of that year Janów Rotary Club celebrated its anniversary of XXXV-years of operation. Our club, together with Lublin and Warsaw clubs, are the oldest clubs in the post-war past of Rotara's operations in Poland, and practically its organisational structure was established in 1986.
The club's formation allowed the Janów infirmary to be very valuable, for the time being, medical equipment and infirmary beds.
During these past years, the club has undertaken many charitable activities, both for the local community and on a national scale or global aid. For example, 1 can mention the creation and equipping of the Rehabilitation Club of Persons with Disabilities in Janów Lubelski, helping children of floods from Wrocław or helping during floods in Ukraine. We besides organized a mini tour of our wonderful Olek Orchestra after Spiš in Slovakia. After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, we helped equip the appliances with a support point in Janów Lubelski for mothers and children fleeing Ukraine.
Currently, our flagship task is the Janów Diamonds Scholarship Competition, which is to fund scholarships for talented youth from the primary schools of Janów County.
The celebrations of the Jubilee lasted all weekend, and any of our guests before the solemn Saturday dinner took advantage of the invitation to take a field tour of the surrounding, attractive places of Janowski Forests and visit the Museum of Photography.
During the anniversary gathering at the restaurant “Kryształowa” we hosted rotarians and not only Polish and abroad clubs. The members of the RC Chełm, RC Jarosław, RC Sopot global and RC Zamość honored us with their presence. The members of RC Lviv and RC Spišska Nova Ves besides celebrated with us. The ceremony was celebrated by the visit of politician Rotary Polska, Greg Gregorczyk. Our members of the pensioners, founders and the club's first organizers made it a large pleasance to come.
During the celebrations there were many talks, joint initiatives and plans for further activity. fresh friendships developed and old friendships grew closer. We received many wishes and symbolic gifts from the guests and remotely from the club RC Puławy, and the club from Sopot supported our future projects with a declaration of their funding.
Encouraged by the Jubilee, we are ready for further action and challenges, and people active with passion and enthusiasm welcome to our meetings on Wednesdays, 18 p.m.00 in the Gallery of the Museum of Photography in Janów Lubelski.
