Israel: Government approved $827 million for “urgent” military shopping

The Israeli government approved on Sunday $827 million for "urgent" military shopping," informed the AFP agency, citing Israeli media. According to the Haarec Journal, the amount was fixed at a gathering from Friday night to Saturday; it was not disclosed precisely what these funds were to be utilized for.

The paper, as quoted by AFP, wrote that additional funds would be allocated to "safety-related purchases" and to meet "urgent needs". According to the papers of the Israeli Ministry of Finance, which quotes various Israeli media, "the urgent and immediate request to supply an operational response, which will include the acquisition of ammunition, the provision of advanced military equipment and the addition of supplies of critical combat materials".

The paper besides states that "this is an extraordinary decision whose sole intent is to meet the needs of fighting". These funds will be taken from the budget of the state which the Israeli government approved on Thursday and which parliament should adopt by the end of the month.

AFP stressed that the government of Benjamin Netanyahu had not yet issued an authoritative message on the matter. According to the paper ‘Haarec’, which cites sources from Israeli safety forces circles, the Iranian army launched 250 ballistic missiles towards Israel in 2 weeks of war; the vast majority neutralized Israeli anti-aircraft defense.

The Center for strategical and global Studies in Washington estimates that the first 12 days of the war cost the United States budget about $16.5 billion.
