Industrial production in Moldova increased in March by 0.1% compared to the first period of spring 2024. However, in quarterly terms, compared to the same period last year, there was a 1.2% decrease, as reported by the National Statistical Office published on May 21.
The biggest regression in the first 4th was observed in the production of electrical equipment (decreased by 21.6%), in the food manufacture (–17.4%), in the production of machinery and trailers (–11.8%) and in the clothing manufacture (–10.7%).
At the same time, statistic recorded a crucial increase in the production of electronic and optical devices – up to 63.4%. On top of that, there was besides a mining sector that increased production by 34.7%.
