Ministers of Education and Defence inaugurated the 4th edition of the MON and MEN task "Education with the Army" in Kartuza. The program is aimed at primary and secondary schools, in which soldiers conduct pro-defense classes. This edition is to be the most numerous, with over 3,000 schools participating. Until now, soldiers have trained over 200,000 students.

At Primary School No. 2. Mikołaj Copernicus in Kartuzy Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Barbara Nowack, Minister of Education inaugurated Fourth edition of the task “Education with the Army”. The programme is simply a joint initiative of defence and education ministries. Within it, soldiers conduct pro-defense activities in primary and secondary schools to rise awareness of children and young people in the field of safety and defence and to form appropriate emergency behaviour.
– Each of us, from the youngest to seniors, must be prepared for emergency situations. You request to know how to behave, be trained, have the essential skills and repeat them regularly," said the Deputy Prime Minister in Kartuzy. At the same time, he stressed that these essential skills must be acquired from primary school and even from kindergarten and regularly repeated.
The head of the MON stressed that cognition gained in specified activities does not only concern the threat of armed conflict beyond our east border, but besides situations specified as floods, flooding, hurricanes, natural disasters or mass road accidents. “Children and young people request to know how to respond due to the fact that specified situations can happen to each of us,” Kosiniak-Kamish said.

On the another hand, Minister Nowacka pointed out that defence is simply a precedence for the government and that the cognition passed on in school is adapted to the age of children. – Education with the military is an thought that we and the Deputy Prime Minister worked out at the beginning of our governments, seeing a immense gap in preparing young people for crisis situations," added the Minister. She besides announced further editions of the programme to guarantee that as many young people as possible get immunity and are prepared for the crisis. After the conference, the heads of ministries took part in the show lesson.
During the training of soldiers, students will learn, among others, about the principles of alerting, how to call for help, the basis of evacuation and uncovering shelter, first aid techniques, how to build resilience to informational threats or how to respond to unidentified objects. In secondary schools it is besides possible to meet a veteran mission outside the state.
The 4th edition of the program is record-breaking, involving more than 3 1000 facilities throughout the country. So far, as part of the 3 editions of the project, soldiers conducted classes in nearly 7,000 schools, where they trained more than 200,000 children and young people.
