More than 35,000 Hasids came to Humania in the Cherkah region of central Ukraine for the celebration of the judaic fresh Year, Rosh ha-Shana – reported the spokesperson for the Ukrainian State Border defender on Monday, Colonel Andrij Demchenko.

"According to our estimates, over 35,000 pilgrims-chassids entered Ukraine in the last fewer weeks, who mostly traveled in organized groups.

The Ombudsman pointed out that the movement of pilgrims takes place not only across borders with the countries of the European Union but besides across the border with Moldova. He added that most of them have entered in the last 5 days.

Previously, the Ministry of abroad Affairs in Kiev called on Hasidics planning to arrive in Humania on Rosh ha-Shan to take into account the deficiency of full safety guarantees for foreigners in Ukraine.

On 14 September, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported on strengthening the service in Humania, including the presence of Israeli police and 24-hour rescue stations.

Humane is the burial site of Rabbi Nachman of Bracław, born in Intergod and died in 1810. The Hasidic believe that in exchange for spending Christmas at his grave they can number on divine intercession.
