Fourteen KTO Rosomak wagons with the ZSSW-30 tower were transferred to the 21st Podhalese firearm Brigade, reported Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish. This is another transportation of these transporters for the Podhales, who were the first users in the Polish Army of the fresh Rosomaks with an unmanned tower. Vehicles have been supplied to the army since the end of 2023.
Wheeled armored transporter Rosomak integrated with ZSSW-30 (remotely controlled tower system) is another version of the Polish car, which was created under the licence of the Finnish vehicle Patria AMV. The tower developed by Huta Stalowa Wola and WB Electronics is equipped with a Bushmaster Mk.44S 30 mm automatic cannon, which allows to drive fire in automatic and semi-automatic mode, utilizing 5 different types of ammunition, including programmable ammunition. The auxiliary weapon is coupled with a cannon, a modified 7.62 mm UKM-2000C device weapon and a dual anti-tank rocket launcher (PPK) Spike-LR.
KTO Rosomak from ZSSW-30 is simply a fresh version of the combat transporter, which has been working in the Polish Army for 25 years. Another variant utilized by the soldiers is Rosomak with the Hitfist-30P tower, produced by the Mechanical Plant "Bumar-Łabady" in cooperation with the Italian company Oto Melara (now Leonardo). This is what the Rosomaki have late gone to the 16th Motorised Brigade. In addition, Rosomak is present, among others, in the versions of the medical safety car (WEM), the method diagnosis car (WRT), and as a base for the 120 mm RAK mortar.
The first contract for the acquisition of 70 ZSSW-30 towers integrated with KTO Rosomak The Armed Forces Agency signed 3 years ago with a consortium composed of Huta Stalowa Wola, WB Electronics, Polish Armed Forces Group and Rosomak SA. In the same year the first wagons were handed over to the 21th Podhalan firearm Brigade. The value of the full contract was PLN 1.7 billion, and the order is to be completed by 2027.
A year ago, a second contract was signed. implementing for the transportation of another 58 combat Rosomaks with a remotely controlled tower with logistics, training and replacement parts. The value of this contract is about PLN 2.6 billion and deliveries will be made between 2026 and 1927. Last year the Armed Forces Agency besides ordered another 80 ZSSW-30 sets, but this time for Who Rosomak Long version, which means a car with an elongated hull and a swimming function. The first batch of modernized armored wheel transporters will be given to land troops from 2027 to 2028.
