Lower Saxony recognized the alternate organization for Germany as "right-extremistic organization". In his justification for this decision, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution of that Land stressed that it was a right-wing populist group "not distancing itself against extremist forces". "The enemies of the constitution have no place in the public service," said Minister of Interior of the Land of Daniel Behrens.
