100 years ago, Władysław Misiuna was born, well-deserved and for years a very active freelour. In fresh years, as a 33rd degree mason, he was a associate of the ultimate Council of Poland (at WWP).
During the German occupation, Władysław Misiuna worked as a rabbit supervisor in the premises of the Weapons mill in Radom, where a branch of the Majdanek concentration camp (KL Lublin) was created. At his request, judaic women from the liquidated Radom ghetto were admitted to care for rabbits. Bear took care of them during the Holocaust, providing them with food, medicines, cleaning supplies, and above all supporting them spiritually and morally – he wrote poems for them. In a relation made for Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw in 1989, Władysław Misiuna determined the number of Holocaust survivors thanks to his aid for 8 people
After the war he graduated in economics and in time became prof. of economics at the Polish Academy of Sciences.
He worked towards closer relations between Poland and Israel and friendly relations between Poles and Jews. He was, among others, co-founder of the Social Committee for the Revalorization of judaic Cemetery in Radom.
28 June 1966. Yad Vashem Institute In Jerusalem, he honored Władysław Misiuna with the title The Righteous Among the Nations. He besides received the Honorary Citizenship of the State of Israel. In 2007, the president of Poland awarded it with the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
