Soldiers of the Territorial Defence Army Training Center have shown that "Always ready, always close" is not only a motto, but besides a everyday one. On Tuesday (May 20th), around 10:00 a.m. there was an accident on Lubicka Street, in the area of Waryński Street and Traugutta Street in Toruń.
As a consequence of the collision, 1 of the vehicles hit the tractor network pole.
The force of impact on 1 of the cars active in the accident pushed the another vehicle consecutive to the pole. The cab was badly destroyed, and 1 of the people trapped inside. The CSWOT soldiers who passed by immediately began to act. The territorials pulled a taped female out of the car and gave her first aid. They then, following safety rules, secured the vehicle by disconnecting the gas strategy and the battery, preventing possible fire. Their activities were full professional and coordinated. The soldiers remained at the scene until the fire and police units arrived.
This event shows that WOT is simply a real force supporting society – present here and now, ready to bring aid before emergency services appear. Their presence at the scene is evidence that WOT is not only a military formation, but besides an crucial part of the local community. They service not only in times of military crisis, but besides in times of fast vicinity help.
"We were on our business trip. The accident happened right in front of us. Seeing the consequences, we immediately stopped to help. We secured the site, provided first aid to the injured and supported the incoming services. We did what anyone should do," said the CSWOT soldier.
It is worth noting that the Territorials of the WOT Training Centre of Toruń have repeatedly utilized the skills acquired during training to save lives, supply assistance, and prevent possible accidents. An example is the fresh assistance of the victim of an accident close Wąbrzeźno.
