Poet's Last Farewell
Ernest Bryll's ceremony will be held on Monday 25 March in Warsaw. At 1.30 p.m., a ceremony Mass will be celebrated at the Dominican OO Church [Dominican Street 2]. It will be followed by a walk to the household grave at the cemetery at Wałbrzyska Street.

Ernest Bryll was born on 1 March 1935 in Warsaw. During the business he was Zawiszak – a associate of the youngest squad of the Grey Lines.
"Ernest Bryll was a master of the wise and customs word, in his many works he established a dialog with Polish tradition and accompanied Polish history. Author of texts to the legendary Oratory of “Kolęda-Nocka”, expressing hopes of Poles related to the period later called “Solidarity” carnival. In the 1980s, he participated in a cultural life independent of communist authorities. The first Polish Ambassador to Ireland translated Irish literature.

He was a valued poet, he published almost 40 volumes of poems, including: "Self-Portrait with a Bull", "Used Art", "Mazowsze", "Sometimes I Meet Me", "Adwent".
Journalist, movie band chief, translator, musical author, playwright and diplomat. From 1963 to 1967 he was a literary manager at the tv Theatre, from 1974 to 1978 - manager of the Institute of Polish Culture in London, and from 1991 to 1995 he served as Ambassador of Poland to Ireland. In 2012, he took up the position of Head of the Literary Department of the Polish movie Institute.
He was besides the author of frequently staged dramas: "November Paper", "Kurdesh" and "Wieczernik". He besides wrote the Oratorium "Carol-Nock" and lyrics for the performances "On the mountains, on the clouds" and "On painted glass".
He has written lyrics since 1965. His works were performed by Maryla Rodowicz, Halina Frąckowiak, Michał Bajor, Marek Grechuta, Czesław Niemen, Stan Boris, Krystyna Prońko, Jerzy Polomski, as well as the Skalds, 2 plus 1 or Myslovitz.
Ernest Bryll was decorated with the Order of the Knight of the Irish Royal home O'Conor (1995) and the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polish Revival (2006). Winner of a number of literary awards.
In 2010, he was awarded the Golden Medal "Feared Culture Gloria Artis", and in 2023 - the Centennial Medal of Recovered Independence.
