The past of our Homeland shows wonderful examples of heroism, honor and love for Poland. Although the pantheon of Polish heroes is enormous, most of the society knows only selected people who played a crucial function in the country. However, it is simply a mistake that even in tiny communities the past of local heroes is frequently unknown.

One of the missions of our portal is to remind us of who the little celebrated heroes of our Homeland were. present we would like to present a character about which you will not find (and it is simply a pity) information in past textbooks, and which - like hundreds of its likes - created the ranks of free Poland. Despite difficulties and inconvenience, she was ready to give her life for the fight for the independent existence of the Polish State.

Edward Malicki was the boy of Stanisław. He was born in 1921. From January 1948 to March 1949, he belonged to WiN in the Italian territory. The branch operated in the area of Poznań, Kielce and Lower Silesia. The improvement of activity in neighbouring areas of voivodships resulted from the fact that the organisations were targeted by investigators from PUBP. Importantly, the group operated long after the communists liquidated within a series of provocations, the organization's chief executives.

Edward Malicki from July 1948 to March 1949 stored weapons without permission, which he utilized during anti-communist activities. Together with his branch, he dealt with insignificant actions against the occupier, specified as driving agitators away, torpedoing village collectivization, etc. He was yet arrested by the PUBP. This occurred in Złotoryia on 19 March 1949.

By decision of the Military territory Court in Wrocław, on 13 June 1949 he was sentenced to 15 years in prison, failure of public rights for 5 years and forfeiture of property[1]. He did most of the time. He died on May 31, 1988. He was buried in the parish cemetery in Włoszczów.

Such silent heroes who fought for free Poland with their dedication, courage and honour were thousands. The work of our nation is to remember them, rehabilitate their name in the light of Polish law and build on their past the identity of a fresh generation of compatriots.
