It is simply a symbol of our demanding service – say operators who have been honored with the sign “Special Forces Diver”. The award was awarded to specialists from GROM, Commandos Military Unit, Formosa and WS Training Centre.

The peculiar signs ceremony took place in Gdynia. At the command of the WS Component Gen. Dyw. Dr. Sławomir Drumovich 84 operators from 4 units received the distinction: GROM, Formozy, Commandos Military Unit and Diving Training Centre which is subject to the WS Training Centre. peculiar marks were awarded to combat divers for the first time. This was possible thanks to last year's decision by the Minister of Defence to introduce the peculiar sign “Special Forces Diver”.
– This is simply a form of discrimination for WS soldiers who are qualified to execute underwater work. At the same time, it is an integrated component that determines the affiliation of peculiar troops divers to NATO's global combat divers community, as noted by Colonel Mariusz Lapta, the spokesperson for DKWS.
According to the rules, fighters can receive peculiar marks in 4 classes, which is expressed by colors: black, gold, silver and brown. The kind of discrimination depends on qualifications, seniority of service in peculiar troops and various types of peculiar achievements. It's easy to get a brown WS dive sign. This symbol may be obtained by an operator who is qualified as a combat diver, who has at least 300 hours of work under the water surface and serves at least 3 years in WS structures. In turn, the black mark of the diver, the highest of his class, will be given to soldiers who, under the surface of the water, have been operating for at least 500 hours, service a minimum of 9 years in the WS structures and have had peculiar achievements in carrying out underwater work. Of the 84 distinguished operators 12 received a black mark, 18 gold, 18 silver, and 36 bronze.
Special marks for combat divers regardless of their class are of the same size and have dimensions of 36 × 42 mm. The mark depicts a black diver's head in a hood with a dive mask on and a mouthpiece and breathing hoses. The emblem is based on a white-red sash shaped like a sea wave. An crucial component of the sign is the trident (depending on the class of discrimination it can be black, gold, silver or brown). Combat divers may wear a peculiar mark on the coat of a gallary uniform, an output uniform, a naval output sweatshirt and a service jacket.
