Russian-Ukrainian War (as of morning 18.07.2026):
- Russia carried out another wave of strikes on Ukraine's port infrastructure on the Black Sea. The main targets were ports in Odessa, Nicholasov and Black Sea. The attacks utilized shock drones and missiles. Transhipment facilities, warehouses and 10 civilian merchant ships sailing under abroad flags were hit. According to the Ukrainian authorities, at least 3 people were killed and respective others were injured. The attacks are seen as a continuation of the Russian strategy to reduce Ukrainian exports by sea and to exert economical force on Kiev,
- Ukraine responded with its own series of long-range strokes in Russian Federation territory. The Russian Ministry of Defence informed about the interception of respective twelve Ukrainian drones flying, among others, towards Moscow, while any unmanneds were to hit logistics facilities and military facilities. Victims were reported in 1 of the Russian logistics centers and disruptions of port infrastructure,
- Ukrainians took the intersection between Stepnohirski and Kamiansk on the Zaporosian section,
- On the fresh Bolivian section, the Russians were forced to retreat from Ivanevka. Ukrainians proceed to counterattack, in order to regain Green grove,
- Russian forces came from Kostiantiniwka towards Druzzkiwka, entering the village of Osykowe,
- The hard battles over the western part of Kupinsk continue. However, no crucial field changes were recorded,
- The most crucial political event in Ukraine remains the crisis caused by personnel changes in the leadership of the Ministry of Defence. In Kiev, many protests are held in a row against the dismissal of Defence Minister Mikhail Fedorov. Demonstrators, among whom are veterans and soldiers' families, besides request the departure of the Chief Commander General Alexander of Syria, accusing him of an outdated way of conducting war. president Volodymyr Zelenski carried out the reorganization, arguing it with the necessity to preserve the unity of the state during the war.
