A survey conducted by the IBRiS shows that the vast majority of Poles believe that Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of Law and Justice, should step down from office after the last elections and quit into political retirement.

Despite the formal triumph in the October PiS parliamentary elections, it is improbable that it will hold power. The organization has not secured adequate mandates to form an independent government, and another groups declare that they will not make a cabinet with the Law and Justice. Media reports show that the party's leadership has not analysed the reasons for unsatisfactory election results and has not yet taken any action against individual politicians.

The IBRiS poll for Radio ZET of Poles asked: “Do you think Jarosław Kaczyński should retreat from politics?” As many as 68.2 percent of respondents replied "yes definitely", and another 6.7 percent "probably yes". Only 8.8% replied "absolutely not", 11.1% said "probably not", and 5.2% of respondents had no opinion on this. Interestingly, 36 percent of PiS voters think Kaczyński should retire. Moreover, this opinion is shared by 95 percent of supporters of the Civic Coalition and 100 percent of third-way voters.
