Hungary is preparing for a fresh era after the war in Ukraine

I told abroad Minister Sergei Lavrov that we full support the dialog between the United States and Russia, and we believe that it can bring peace. If this happens, the era of economical sanctions will yet end. The fresh global economical environment will bring large opportunities and Hungary wants to have the best starting position – said Hungarian politician Peter Szijjarto on social media.

Following talks with the head of the Russian Ministry of abroad Affairs, Szijjártó pointed out that although the peace process is demanding, the prepared peace initiative gives real hope for its implementation. He besides stressed that the government is already taking action to make Hungary as prepared as possible for the upcoming global economical and commercial reality after the end of the war.

The Hungarian Minister has defined the forthcoming peace initiative as a ray of hope and declared full support for talks between the US and Russia. He expressed his conviction that this dialog could bring an end to the conflict and, with this, to the abolition of sanctions. He besides stressed that the current restrictions have already burdened Europe enough.

The fresh economical and commercial era will bring large opportunities, and we are going to guarantee that we have the best possible starting position. – added Szijjártó.

Extension of Paks atomic Power Plant

The head of the Hungarian Ministry of abroad Affairs stressed that Budapest's cooperation with Moscow in the field of energy and the economy has always been carried out on the basis of a pragmatic approach and has yielded concrete benefits to both businesses and households in Hungary. He besides pointed out that the country does not intend to leave this policy, regardless of the pressure.

Mr Szijártó besides reported in Moscow that the improvement of the Paks atomic power plant was taking place faster than expected. As a result, the next week will start method actions before the concrete is poured into fresh facilities.

The task is carried out by the Russian state-owned company Rosatom, which builds 2 1200 MW reactors each. The investment, known as Paks II, is 1 of Viktor Orbán's key energy projects.
