On August 1, 1944, Warsaw was not created only against the German occupier. It was created in the mediate of a game of large powers, which – each for another reason – preferred the Polish capital to fight and die alone. For Germany it was an chance for the eventual destruction. For the russian Union – a convenient chance to destruct independent Poland. For Western Allies – an uncomfortable problem that threatened to violate an alliance with Stalin.
