Hungary suspends gas supply to Ukraine until oil supply resumes with the relationship pipeline - announced on Wednesday in a video posted on Facebook by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
“Until Ukraine supplies oil, it will besides not receive gas from Hungary. We will defend Hungary's energy security, maintaining unchangeable fuel prices and reducing media costs for Hungarian families," said the Prime Minister.
– Gradually, we halt gas supply and we will store surpluses in the country," he added.
At the end of January, the relationship pipeline, which Russia supplies by Ukraine with oil to Hungary and Slovakia, was damaged in the Russian attack. The authorities in Kiev guarantee that they are renovating the oil pipeline, but the government of Orban maintains that the Ukrainian authorities deliberately hold back the re-transitation, and calls these actions ‘shantage’.
