Former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated on Wednesday that during the Tuesday raid prosecutors confiscated his party's servers, Fidesz, provided the Index portal.
In his message on Tuesday, Fidesz reported that the prosecution raided the office where the group servers were operated. Orbán described these measures on Wednesday as "a breach of democratic standards".
The erstwhile Prime Minister besides commented on the amendment adopted by Parliament and signed by erstwhile president Tamás Sulyok to the Constitution, which, among another things, led to the removal of the head of state appointed by Fidesz, introduced the word of office limit of Members to 3 and the advanced age limit for judges of the Constitutional Tribunal at 70 years.
According to Orbánand the adoption of the amendment created a situation in Hungary in which "democracy and the regulation of law" no longer prevail. The politician stated that the changes excluded half of the opposition organization representatives from public life, and the removal of Sulyok and Péter Polt (related to Fidesz 70-year-old president of the Constitutional Court) took place through legal changes aimed at circumstantial individuals. Orbán felt that "political autocracy" prevailed in the country.
