The PSL survey amazed many Poles. "If the PiS and the Confederacy had proposed the PSL to form a government with them now, in which Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz would be Prime Minister, should the PSL accept specified a proposal?" was 1 of the questions. The case got loud before the weekend.
It is already known that more than 70% of the responses were in favour of the cooperation of the PSL within the current coalition. However, the thought of asking specified questions in many Poles caused distaste. There have already been rumors about how the Kaczyński organization tempts people. In addition to this on Wednesday, June 10, there is to be a vote of assurance for Donald Tusk's government and many wonder what the PSL will do. And any politicians, like Michał Kamiński or Marek Sawicki, assessed him rather harshly.
Can PSL enter the coalition from the PiS?
- No, I don't. PSL won't support the Law and Justice. PSL is in a coalition with Democratic parties. We unanimously supported her. And besides in Małopolska, which is traditional, there is no force on the coalition with PiS. This is absolutely not how it works – Krzysztof Klęczar, a associate of the ultimate Executive Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, cuts off these speculations.
– always since the Law and Justice came into being, due to the fact that the PSL has a longer story, all the time, all chance we get, there's a bucket coming out on us. And for the moment, for 15 years, we haven't done that. We've been in deep opposition for many years. We are truly not as easy as any people seem – he emphasizes in his conversation with the subject.
So what was the poll for? At PSL, we hear they don't see anything incorrect with her.
– It is good that individual from the management asks the activists for their opinion, not say, "It will be anyway. That's all". PSL is simply a large party. To be honest, I'm glad these surveys are being made. I have the impression that we are not utilized to the fact that in Polish policy decisions are consulted by individual more than leaders – another 1 of PSL politicians tells us.
Nor does he feel that there is anything incorrect with the fact that any in PSL openly criticized Tusk.
– If you lose, it's hard not to criticize. That means everyone has noticed the apparent thing is something's wrong. PSL politicians just rebalized it. If for half a year it was told that Karol Nawrocki is simply a man from nowhere, and Trzaskowski is the best, and then wins the 1 from nowhere, then the problem is – he says.
But to learn from this criticism that PSL might want to deal with the Law and Justice? These are 2 completely different things. I have quite a few imagination, but it's hard for me to imagine this kind of cooperation right now. That would make sense in 2023. truly pushing PSL into the embrace of the Law and Justice is simply a small inelegant – it reacts.
Such messages were received by PSL activists before the second round
When we ask about the temper at PSL, the reactions at the bottom are different. In the east of Poland, for example, we hear disappointment with the actions of PSL on top. 1 activist tells that part of the PSL electorate in the second circular voted for Karol Nawrocki. And that erstwhile there were respective 100 people coming to the region reunions. And now possibly 50-70.
But before the second circular of the presidential election, young PSL activists encouraged themselves to vote for Rafał Trzaskowski. We get any examples of messages that were sent to people associated with PSL in 1 of the regions of east Poland:
"Trzaskowski = lesser evil, but a real chance to rebuild normality. It's about normality, not ideology. I want Poland, where courts work, schools teach, doctors heal, and the president is not a meme."
Or:
"I don't vote with my heart. I vote by reason. And 1 thing tells me: today, Trzaskowski is simply a better choice for the future of Poland – not ideal, but more predictable and safe".
And besides specified news, in which it clearly pointed to Trzaskowski.
"Trzaskowski is the only candidate who gives hope of building an agreement, not digging up divisions with which we are able to talk and jointly accept
solutions good for Polish countryside and Poles".
"This is not the time for experiments, we gotta choose the 1 that gives the top stableness and chances of developing Poland".
– I think that across the country they're making good faces for a bad game now, due to the fact that any signals that something is incorrect have been before. If the people downstairs voted for a PiS candidate, not Trzaskowski, it came from somewhere. For people in the counties it is not crucial who rules, as long as they live well – the local activist believes.
Further part of the article below:
"Our activists are conservative too. But conservatives don't mean written"
The Lesser Poland Voivodeship explains these moods and general situation in which the PSL is.
– Poland is different and the moods in our formation in different regions of the country are different too. It looks different in Pomerania, in West Pomerania or in Wielkopolska. Or in Małopolska, Lublin, or Świętokrzyskie, which are conservative and our activists are conservative. But conservatives don't mean written. This must be remembered – Krzysztof Klęczar emphasises.
He adds: – On the another hand, there is no approval to turn left.
In specified regions, as he says, it was hard for PSL activists in the field erstwhile the issues of spiritual or worldview lessons were passed through Poland.
– We're traditional. Hence, not everyone was delighted with the current expression of the coalition. Rafał Trzaskowski partially glued a patch of the 1 who collected crosses in Warsaw. large cities may not feel that way. But here in the field, it's a sacred thing. And changing religion is an assassination. But that's not a vote of distrust against anyone. This is simply a attachment to Christian and national traditions – he says.
Thus, in any municipalities, Karol Nawrocki won 80-90 percent of the votes in the second round.
As the voivode says, in these regions, the conviction of the parish priest is besides crucial for the activists of the PSL: "It is frequently people active in ecclesiastical matters, members of parish councils, people who give in Catholic organizations. For them, planet views are unacceptable. Hence, most likely the voices of support for Karol Nawrocki, due to the fact that the narration of the Law and Justices about "that in order to be a good man, a Catholic, a father, or a mother, 1 must vote for the Law and Justice" here has done its job.
– Of course, it is not actual – it reserves.
One of the local PSL activists from east Poland adds to this picture: Our electorate is godfather. Even though little people in the country go to church now. However, we have 100 percent children in religion, unless there is individual else in religion. Baptism, communion and confirmation are mandatory. It doesn't substance if you go to church all Sunday, but they're expected to be. In addition, everything related to LGBT and sex is absolutely unacceptable.
Voivode from PSL: Our coalitions, especially from the Left, must realize this
As the politician says, the voices of disgruntled people like, "What are you doing?" Then he explains to them what the coalition is.
– Therefore, if we proceed to do so, as with horses under the Sea Eye, with spiritual lessons, with crosses, unfortunately, it will affect us, due to the fact that Poland is truly traditional. Hence the unacceptable speech of Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish in defending these values. Our coalitions, especially from the Left, must realize this. We don't do this for spite. We are like that," emphasises Krzysztof Klęczar.
He adds that he besides frequently irritates the behaviour of the hierarchs. – But in the fight against the religiousness of Poles no 1 in Poland will gain anything for the next 50 years. Whether anyone likes it or not, it just is – he thinks.
We'll see what comes next. Let us remind you only at the end – in 2023 the temptation of the PSL was already taking forms of absurdity. – No chance – said PSL politicians, but like head to wall. The Law and Justice Department has been upping the communicative of cooperation with the people. “I will say colloquially: let them fall into a tree,” said Vice president Adam Jarubas. We wrote more about it here.
