Over the last year, a fresh wave of poisoning has affected journalists and activists who have left Russia - according to the journalistic investigation The Insider and Bellingcat. In October 2022, a fresh Gazieta and Medusa writer Elena Kostuuchenko was poisoned in Munich, a week later in Tbilisi almost identical symptoms had a writer Echo Moscow Irina Bablojan, and in the spring of 2023 Natalia Arno, head of the Free Russia Foundation, was poisoned with a neurotoxic substance.
