"The year after the illegal invasion of Ukraine, global leaders gather in London to show our continuing and increasing support for the ISS. War criminals must be held liable for the brutal atrocities we are witnessing," said British Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab.

Dominic Raab assured: "Great Britain and the global community will proceed to supply the global Criminal Court with funds, people and expertise to guarantee that justice is done."

It is besides known that Britain will allocate an additional £295 000 to finance the work of the ISS, reports The Guardian.

Meanwhile, the UN published a study by the Independent global Commission for the Investigation of Violations in Ukraine, which confirmed that the Russian Armed Forces were liable for mass air strikes against the drama theatre and maternity ward in Mariupol, as well as for the rocket attack on the railway station in Kramatorsk.

‘The Commission examined the circumstances of the attacks carried out or likely to be carried out by the Russian armed forces and concluded that most of the attacks were massive. In particular, in specified widespread cases as the attack on the urban drama theatre on 16 March 2022 during the siege of Mariupola, which resulted in a large number of deaths and injuries; the attack on the railway station in Kramatorsk on 8 April 2022, resulting in 59 deaths and 92 injuries; on 27 June 2022, the attack on the buying centre in Siliconczuk, which resulted in 21 deaths and respective twelve injuries, says the document.

The Commission concluded that "Russian armed forces have not taken possible precautions to verify the presence of civilians". "Hundreds of civilians were in areas affected by the fire of the Kramatorsk railway station and the drama theatre in Mariupol. Similarly, hundreds of civilians were in Chernihov's residential districts during attacks on March 3, 2022, in which at least 20 people were killed and many others were injured," the study says.

UN Commissioners confirmed that Russia is besides liable for attacking the Mariupol maternity ward.

"Civil infrastructure has been affected, including existing medical facilities, which besides demonstrates the inability to take preventive measures. Among these cases is an assassination of 9 March 2022 at the Primary wellness Care infirmary No. 3 in Mariupol, where an obstetric ward was struck, killing at least 1 pregnant female and her unborn child. Even if the Russian armed forces prosecute military targets during these attacks, the position of peculiar protection medical facilities should prompt them to be peculiarly careful," the paper states.

The committee thus concluded that "the Russian armed forces have carried out, and in any cases they are likely to carry out mass and disproportionate attacks, a violation of global humanitarian law".
