MEP Anna Bryłka at the Committee on global Trade of the European Parliament asked the Minister for Trade and improvement Krzysztof Pasyk,
– I have a question about trade with Ukraine.
The current liberalisation of trade between Ukraine and the European Union expires precisely on 5 June 2025. For the last almost 3 years, it has been based on the unilateral abolition by the European Union of tariff and non-tariff restrictions on imports from Ukraine, of course for the benefit of Ukraine and with major losses primarily for front states, including Poland.
The current Regulation introduces any kind of brakes on imports of agri-food products, but first they concern selected goods and secondly they were calculated on the basis of periods during which imports from Ukraine had the largest volume.

— Anna Bryłka (@annabrylka) January 29, 2025Now, during the Polish Presidency, the substance must be settled 1 way or the other, and I have a question:
Is the return to trade between Ukraine and the European Union, based on the Association Agreement, a return to pre-war rules, considered? However, is there a more realistic scenario, which, too, comes from the European Commission, that this will be further liberalisation under the fresh association agreement?
In that case, if this script were to be implemented under the Polish Presidency, delight let me know whether the rules of reciprocity will be written there; will there be any restrictions on imports of delicate goods; will Ukraine be able to export only after gathering EU food production standards, both in terms of food safety and animal welfare?
