On October 10th, in Białobrzeg there was a solemn appeal on the occasion of giving the Armed Forces Command strategy Support Centre the name of Brig. Gen. Robert Drozd.
The ceremony was attended by Gen. Dyw. Karolo Molenda, commander of the Cyberspace defence Army, Brig. Gen. Piotr Chodowiec, Head of the Management Board of P-6 SG WP and representatives of MON and JW's cells and organizational units, uniformed services, local authorities, associations, as well as school youth. General Drozd's closest household besides participated in the appeal.
Reminiscing the General, he was stressed that during his service he was a leader who shaped the directions of the improvement of communication and ICT to better prepare individuals and all military cyberspaces for dynamic changes. Over respective years, many initiatives of General Drozd have contributed to the improvement of ICT in the Armed Forces of Poland. "General from the clouds" – specified a inscription appears on his tombstone, as he was a soldier bravely taking on various challenges and able to infect others with an ICT passion.
After the solemn appeal, Gen. Karol Molenda, commander of KWOC, Mrs. Agnieszka Drozd – spouse of General Drozd and Col. Sławomir Gawron – Chief of the Armed Forces Command Systems Support Centre, unveiled a memorial plaque dedicated to the patron.
