Today the Minister of National Defence met with soldiers in the recently formed military complex of the 1st Mazurian Artillery Brigade. The unit was established in December 2022.

On Tuesday, August 29, Mariusz Błaszczak met soldiers in Oleck in the recently formed military complex of the 1st Mazurian Artillery Brigade. The unit was converted from the 11th Artillery Regiment last December. The changes were made on the basis of experience from the war in Ukraine, which showed what function artillery plays in the modern battlefield. In March 2023, the Minister of National Defence declared that the unit would be located in Oleck. 3 squadrons from the 1st Mazurian Artillery Brigade are to be stationed there. The first squadron will be armed with cannonhaubice, the second in rocket artillery, and the 3rd in unmanned and impact drones. The mark is to service 1,000 soldiers in Oleck.

A fewer months ago, my announcements about strengthening the Polish Army were assessed here on the east flank of the North Atlantic Alliance, in north-eastern Poland as declarations. We're proving a advanced level of perjury. The military unit in Oleck is already here and is developing. I am very pleased with the dynamic improvement of the 1st Mazurian Artillery Brigade, equipped with the already self-propelled cannon-haubice K9. Soldiers from the 1st Mazurian Artillery Brigade have already received training in Korea. There will besides be rocket artillery in Oleck. We introduce the Gladius strategy to the equipment of the Polish Army - Minister of Defence Mariusz Błaszczak.

During the speech, the head of the MON encouraged to join the ranks of the Polish Army:

I encourage you to join voluntary essential military service to tie your future as a professional soldier. Those who want to combine professional activity with military service, I invitation them to the Territorial defence Army. And I invitation everyone to take an interest in our programs – e.g. "Train with the army" or "Woman's self-defense".

Currently, the brigade's troops are equipped with 24 K9 cannonohaubice South Korean production. Poland wants to get a full of 672 copies of this weapon, with only the first deliveries of equipment in the K9 version. In the future, more modern K9PL cannonohaubice will be sent to artillery artists. In July 2022 Poland concluded a framework agreement with Hyundai Rot to get a full of 1000 K2 tanks and their colonized developmental version of K2PL with accompanying vehicles, as well as training and logistics package, ammunition supply and method support of the manufacturer. In turn, the framework agreement concluded with Hanwha defence includes the acquisition of a full of 672 self-propelled Haubic K9A1 and their poloniumed developmental version of K9PL together with accompanying vehicles, as well as training and logistics package, ammunition supply and method support of the manufacturer. In Morąg on 26 August, Minister of National Defence approved executive contracts for the supply of 180 K2 tanks and 212 haubic K9 tanks for the Polish Army. The tanks are to be delivered by Hyundai Rotem from 2022 to 2025, and the Haubice Hanwha Defense, from 2022 to 2026. In October, however, negotiations on the acquisition of K239 Chunmoo rocket launchers ended. The first 18 launchers, integrated with the Polish vehicles JELCZ and ammunition, are to be ready by 2023. Ultimately, the Polish army will receive 300 launchers and a large supply of ammunition. Equipment produced in Korea is systematically delivered to our country. The first machines arrived at Polish ports in December last year.

It is worth reminding that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki that thanks to the sealing of the financial strategy and its repair allowed to finance the costs of reinforcements since 2015. It was noted that in 2023 a.4% of Polish GDP will be allocated to defence expenditure. It is an amount of PLN 99.4 billion. In 2015 it was only PLN 37 billion, or 2.2% of GDP. This is an increase of over 160 percent. Moreover, as Morawiecki emphasizes, since 2015 the number of Polish soldiers has increased from 95 1000 to about 164 thousand.
