There are places that hatred indifference. Gdansk belongs to them. It is simply a symbol city – the beginning of the war, the cradle of freedom, the place where Poles paid a immense price, frequently the price of life, so that Europe can talk about unity today. It is so hard not to feel bitter surprise erstwhile German Unity Day is celebrated at the European Solidarity Centre, in the heart of Gdańsk. The event, which has small place on Tuesday evening, for our western neighbours has the dimension of a national holiday, sounds different in Poland – especially in the place where past wrote specified a dramatic prologue of the 20th century.
