The European Union bans the usage of refrigerators, air conditioners and freon-based air conditioning systems, with environmental concerns. This decision aims to reduce the impact of fluorinated gases on the climate. The next step after the ban on gas and furnace installations, which has been taken, is now focused on eliminating freon from refrigeration equipment. This in turn will have a crucial impact on citizens of the European Union, including the people of Poland.

Implementation of the fresh government will require changes in equipment specified as refrigerators and air conditioning systems that presently usage fluorinated gases. Manufacturers will be subject to fresh guidelines and consumers will be obliged to usage greener solutions. The aim is to make a more sustainable marketplace for refrigeration equipment, reduce emissions of harmful substances and aim for better climate protection for future generations.

To counter adverse climate change, The European Union is taking gradual action to destruct the usage of CFCs, i.e. chlorofluorocarbons, commonly utilized in refrigerators and air conditioners. The European Union's decision to retreat freon from equipment specified as refrigerators, air conditioners or heat pumps is simply a key step. These fluorinated substances, mostly known as freons, are utilized as cooling agents in different types of equipment. It is planned to destruct fluorinated gases from these devices by 2050.

On 5 October, the European Council and the European Parliament reached a provisional agreement on fresh arrangements for the withdrawal of fluorinated gases and substances that contribute both to global warming and to the impoverishment of the ozone layer, as reported by ‘Legaartis’. In order for the agreement to be implemented, it will should be approved by the 27 EU associate States and the European Parliament.

It is worth noting that the impact of fluorinated gases on global warming is respective 100 1000 times stronger than that of carbon dioxide (CO2). On the another hand, these substances, which destruct the ozone layer, origin a gap in this layer of the Earth's atmosphere, which is crucial for protecting against ultraviolet radiation that importantly affects human wellness and ecosystems. The elimination of these substances is crucial for protecting the environment and ensuring better quality of life on our planet.

Prohibition will contribute to the accomplishment of EU climate objectives

The European Commission welcomed the provisional agreement aimed at reducing emissions of 500 million tonnes of fluorinated gases and substances that deplete the ozone layer by 2050. This is an crucial step towards achieving the European Union's climate objectives, which presume a simplification in greenhouse gas emissions of at least 55% by 2030. In addition, specified an agreement is crucial to neutralising the climate impact in Europe by the mid-21st century, which makes a crucial contribution to global environmental efforts.
