The European Parliament in Strasbourg voted on a strengthened safeguard clause for the EU trade agreement with the Mercosur countries on Tuesday. This is intended to let the Community to respond more rapidly if prices of products specified as beef and eggs fall as a consequence of imports from the countries of this block of South America.
